Why Massage Can Help When Your Body Feels Stuck in Tension
Sometimes tension lingers because the body has gotten used to holding itself a certain way. Stress can keep the shoulders lifted, an old ache can make you guard without realizing it, and repetitive movement can leave certain muscles doing more work than they should.
Massage can help by giving those areas focused attention, easing muscular tension, and helping you notice patterns you may have stopped feeling because they became so familiar. That does not mean every tight muscle has one simple cause, but it can give the body a chance to settle and move a little more comfortably.
One thing I always want people to remember is this: you do not have to wait until something becomes painful to pay attention to it. Sometimes noticing that your jaw has been clenched all week or that one shoulder always feels heavier is already useful information.
